When is the Apple event announcing the new iPhone 8?
Apple is set to unveil the eagerly-awaited iPhone 8 at a special event on September 12, it has been claimed.
The latest gadget will be revealed alongside new versions of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
TechCrunch was first to reveal that invites for the launch had been sent out, having previously reported that the event would fall on this day.
The Wall Street Journal, which is usually a reliable source of Apple gossip, said: “The company is expected to unveil three iPhones, according to other people familiar with its plans.”
How can you watch the Apple event on TV?
The event will take place at the new Steve Jobs Theater inside Apple’s headquarters, nicknamed the “Spaceship” or “Fruit Loop”.
For those in the UK, there will be a live stream of the two-hour event at 6pm in the UK (which is 10am US Pacific time).
The stream can be viewed on Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation are compatible), and you will need to run software version 6.2 or later, or have a 4th generation Apple TV.

What new features will the iPhone 8 have?
There has been a raft of rumours about the new features the upcoming iPhone 8 will have.
These include facial recognition technology and a brand new screen and camera.
Apple fans went into meltdown recently when “new pictures” of the iPhone design were leaked online.
Analysts have hinted that the iPhone charging cable might be removed, just like the headphone jack.
