Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje attended oath ceremony of 14th President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, which took place at Central Hall in New Delhi on Tuesday. Congratulating Kovind, Raje said that his term would be historical and inspiration to all.
“Congratulations to Sh. Ram Nath Kovind ji on taking oath as the President of India. My best wishes for a successful tenure… President Sh Ram Nath Kovind ji’s simplicity, extraordinary journey & vast experience is a source of inspiration for us all,” Raje in two separate tweets informed about her visit to oath taking venue where outgoing president Pranab Mukherjee, prime minister Narendra Modi, vice president Hamid Ansari were present. Union ministers and other dignitaries also attended the ceremony.
In a statement release by her office the Raje was quoted saying that all were impressed with the simplicity and cordial nature of Kovind when he visited Jaipur during campaigning for presidential election. His uncommon life journey and public life is an inspiration to all, the statement added. It is to be worth mentioning here that Raje played an active role during presidential election campaigning and voting held in the state assembly on July 20. She was for eight hours at assembly until to voting completed and ballot boxes sealed.

- The President-elect, Ram Nath Kovind had received votes of 166 MLAs from Rajasthan. It may be noted that the BJP has only 162 MLAs in the state assembly.
- Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje herself had camped at the Assembly throughout and personally supervised the polling process on July 19, the day for the presidential polls from morning till it was wrapped in the evening.
